NFL players have expressed outrage at a video of Green Bay Packers running back getting yanked and shoved by a police officer at Lambeau Field on Saturday.

The incident happened during a rain delay at a soccer friendly match between Manchester City and FC Bayern Munich.

Dillon got permission from two security guards to do a “Lambeau leap” that would get fans excited.

He came down from the stands and onto the field, getting yanked by his collar by the cop as he was preparing to leap back to the crowd.

They exchanged some words before the cop pushed Dillon from behind and gestured at him to jump.

AJ Dillon brushes off incident

During the incident, the cop got nailed in the head by a cup as the crowd yelled at him for yanking their RB.

Dillon took to Twitter after the incident to diffuse the situation by saying that it was just a matter of miscommunication.

“Just miscommunication between parties,” Dillon wrote. “The @GBPolice are great people and I’m glad we have them down there for our games to keep us safe.

“Standing there in the pouring rain with all those people it’s hard to know what’s going on with just one. All good.”

Packers teammates Adrian Amos and De’Vondre Campbell both commended Dillon for his professionalism and calm demeanor, each one explaining what they would have done in that situation.

The Green Bay Police Department thanked Dillon for how he handled the situation and said its Professional Standards/Internal Affairs Division initiated a review of the incident.
