Brian Robinson, the third-round pick of the 2022 NFL draft and player of the Washington Commanders, was hospitalized due to gunshot injuries.

The rookie running back was shot several times during an alleged robbery on Sunday.

In the last hours, medical authorities revealed Brian Robinson had non-life threatening wounds, and he could rejoin the team in the next months.

Where was Brian Robinson shot?

According to National Insider for NFL Network, Ian Rapoport, the Commanders’ RB Brian Robinson, received two gunshots.

Rapoport mentioned that Robinson was shot in the lower leg and the glute. Both injuries qualified as non-life threatening.

Rapport also mentioned that Brian Robinson, Washington’s N.1 running back for the 2022 season, could return “at some point this season.”

Ron Rivera visited Brian Robinson at the hospital

In the last hours, Ron Rivera attended the hospital to check on Brian Robinson.

According to Washington’s head coach Ron Rivera, the rookie player is in a good mood, and thankful for the support.

“I just got done visiting w/Brian. He is in good spirits and wanted me to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers & support,” Ron Rivera tweeted.

“He wants his teammates to know he appreciates them all for reaching out, and he loves them all & will be back soon doing what he does best.”

The robbery events

According to Nicki Jhabvala and Peter Hermann of The Washington Post, D.C. Police established that Brian Robinson was shot at the 1000 block of H Street in northeast D.C.

The events happened at 6:00 pm ET. He was the victim of an armed robbery attempt.
