The wide receiver market is, along with the quarterback market, the one that has moved the most in this free agency period in the NFL and this Wednesday another of the stars has signed a big contract that will keep him in his prime with the same team, this is the case of Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills.

The details of the agreement between Diggs and the Bills

Diggs has reached a contract extension agreement for four additional years to the two he already had with the Bills and a total of $96 million in new money, this according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, who also added that the main weapon of the quarterback will receive a signing bonus of $21.5 million and that the total guaranteed money will be $70 million.

It should be recalled that three of the league’s top receivers have agreed to team trades this offseason and those are the cases in chronological order of Amari Cooper from the Dallas Cowboys to the Cleveland Browns, Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders and Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins.

It’s fully deserved money for Diggs, who came to the Bills fair and square in a trade from the Minnesota Vikings and has become a superstar, 2020 totaling 127 receptions for 1,535 yards and in 2021 racking up 103 catches for 1,225 yards.

Buffalo, favorite to reach Super Bowl LVII

Buffalo has become the favorite team to reach Super Bowl LVII representing the AFC and this is because they have virtually intact their roster from last year, in which they were eliminated by the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime in the Divisional Round, in addition to adding, among other free agents, the spectacular outside linebacker Von Miller, coming from the defending champions Los Angeles Rams.

Diggs’ average annual salary is $24 million, making him the ninth receiver in the NFL to average at least $20 million per season.
